Terms of Service

Version 2026-08-01 · Effective August 1, 2026

These terms govern use of Quote by the businesses that subscribe to it. If you received an estimate or an invoice through it, your agreement is with the business that sent it, not with us — but these terms still tell you how the platform behaves.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between you (the business subscribing, and everyone you invite into your workspace) and [Legal business name], which operates Quote. Creating an account or using the service means you accept them.

2. What Quote is

Software for producing estimates and invoices, capturing leads, managing jobs and schedules, tracking team time, and storing the documents that go with all of that.

It is a tool, not an advisor. It does not provide accounting, legal, tax, or professional advice. Every number it produces is only as good as what you put in: you are responsible for your prices, your tax rates, and the accuracy of every document you send under your name.

3. Beta features

Parts of the product are labelled beta. Those may change, break, or be withdrawn without notice. Do not depend on a beta feature for anything you could not redo by hand.

4. Your account

  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract and give accurate account information.
  • Keep your credentials secret. You are responsible for everything done in your workspace by the people you invite.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your workspace without authorization.

5. Your data stays yours

You own the content you put into your workspace. You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, process, transmit, and back up that content in order to run the service for you.

We do not use your business data, or your customers' data, to train machine-learning models, and we do not use it to build anything for anyone else.

6. Your obligations for other people's information

Under Law 25 you are the enterprise responsible for the customer information you enter. By using the service you confirm that:

  • You have the right to collect and enter that information.
  • You have given your customers the notices they are owed and obtained the consents the law requires.
  • You will honour their requests for access, correction, and deletion, and you will designate a person responsible for the protection of personal information in your own business.
  • You will not upload health information, government identifiers, biometric identifiers, or payment card numbers.
  • You will not use the service to send unsolicited commercial email in violation of Canada's anti-spam legislation. Messages we send on your behalf carry your business identification and, where required, an unsubscribe path.

7. Acceptable use

  • No unlawful use, and no use that infringes someone else's rights.
  • No reverse engineering, and no circumventing rate limits, access controls, or workspace boundaries.
  • No probing for, or accessing, another workspace's data.
  • No automated scraping or bulk extraction beyond the export tools we provide.
  • No reselling or sublicensing access, and no uploading malicious code.

8. Third-party integrations

Google Calendar, QuickBooks, and similar integrations connect at your choice, using your own credentials with that provider. They are governed by that provider's terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or behaviour. Revoking access there may stop the sync here.

9. Fees

[Subscription pricing, billing cycle, taxes, and refund terms to be completed before launch.] Until then, access is provided at no charge and may be limited or ended on notice.

10. Availability, and what we do not promise

We work to keep the service available and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not guarantee that any particular feature will continue to exist. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as is.

Nothing here removes a right you have under Quebec consumer protection law or any other law that cannot be waived by contract.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data beyond restoring from our routine backups.

These limits do not apply to gross or intentional fault, or to bodily or moral injury, which cannot be excluded under Quebec law.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend an account for non-payment, or for use that endangers the platform or other people's data, giving notice where it is practical to do so.

After termination you can export your data for 30 days. After that, the retention rules in the Privacy Policy apply.

13. Changes to these terms

These terms are versioned; the current version is 2026-08-01. We will give notice of a material change. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it; if you do not, close your account.

14. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by the laws in force in Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of the judicial district of Montreal have exclusive jurisdiction.

This version is drafted in English. A French version will be made available, and where Quebec law requires a French version, the French text governs.
